N-power volunteers protest in Lagos for the Government to Absorb it Members For Permanent Employment
The group of N-power volunteers pleaded with the Lagos State government to absorb its members for permanent employment as part of the Lagos State government recruitment exercise which is currently taking place in various ministries. .
The group said that although the state government is not the coordinator of the N-power schemes but the state government has the freedom to grant them the stay of permanent employment in different ministries, because various state governments absorb members from other states.
The group further stated that in the past four years that the plans had been contributed by the federal government, they had contributed significantly but had not benefited from the state government led by Governor Babajide Sanwolu in Lagos State.
In fact, at one point, the Lagos State House of Assembly claimed that its members were ghost workers that their effects on the Lagos State government were not felt.
According to the coordinator and organizer of the protest, comrade Felix Ayorinde, for the government of the Lagos state , affirming that they are ghost workers, this is very detrimental to the personality of their members, hence the need for this pleading protest from members across Lagos State.
However, Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, while addressing the Npower group, said they should support their protests with letters of application and their request will be treated with favorable consideration if the recruitments for the job has not being completed.
