Shocking! An Indian captured with a lion as a “security guard” in Lagos (photo)
An Indian was caught using a lion as a “security guard” in a community in Lagos State.
According to a report published by Punch Metro, the Lagos government reportedly found a lion cub raised in a residential apartment in the state.
The lion, two years old, would be deployed as a security guard in the house where he was found.
Speaking to Punch Metro late on Sunday, Yinka Egbeyemi, head of the Lagos State Task Force Working Group on Environmental Violations and Special Offenses, said the baby would be “tranquilized” on Monday.
He added that the discovery took place at the house No. 229 Muri Okunola Street, in the upscale area of Victoria Island.
The wild animal, allegedly kept by an Indian, was discovered by residents who petitioned the state government.
Egbeyemi told PUNCH that his men had been monitoring the house since Friday.
He noted that the animal would be tranquilized Monday (tomorrow) and taken to a zoo.
