The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), established by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is the electoral body created to oversee the elections in Nigeria. INEC’s functions.
Organize and supervise all elections for the following positions: president and vice-president, governor and deputy governor of a state, as well as members of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly of each State.
Record policies and control the organization and functioning of political parties, including their finances; party conventions, congresses and primaries.
Organize and register qualified persons to vote and prepare, maintain and revise the register of electors for the purpose of any election under this constitution;
Conduct civic and electoral education by promoting knowledge of healthy democratic electoral processes.
The main mission of INEC is to serve as an independent and efficient electoral management body engaged in the conduct of free, fair and credible elections for a sustainable democracy in Nigeria; with the vision of being one of the best election management bodies in the world that meets the aspirations of the Nigerian people.

Tips to consider when applying for INEC 2020 recruitment
Only people who have successfully completed this step will be invited to the next step
You only need to register once. More than that, you will be disqualified for this year’s inec recruitment exercise.
The application is free
You must have a valid piece of ID (this could include your national ID, your voter card, your driver’s license)
You cannot modify your biological data once submitted (make sure that every detail you put in the form is confirmed several times before clicking and submitting the form)
Professionals/Experienced hires – Grade Levels 09 -14.
Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 08
III. Executive Officer (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 07
#2. REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS BY CATEGORIES
PROFESSIONALS/ EXPERIENCED HIRES – GRADE LEVELS 09 – 14 Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Sciences, the Sciences or Humanities, Masters degree, Professional qualification chartered by legislation, NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and post-qualification cognate experience is an added advantage.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II (REGISTRATION AREA OFFICER) – GRADE LEVEL 08 Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Sciences, Sciences or Humanities, and NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
iii. EXECUTIVE OFFICER (REGISTRATION AREA OFFICER) – GRADE LEVEL 07 Applicants must possess: National Certificate in Education (NCE) or National Diploma with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification cognate experience.
#3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
In addition, an applicant MUST: –
Be a Nigerian Citizen;
Present a Certificate of State of Origin Signed by the Chairman/ Secretary of his/her Local Government. A Certificate of endorsement by Liaison Officers is not acceptable;
iii. Be computer literate;
Be Certified by Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment in the Commission;
Not be above 35 years of age for the entry point and 45years of age for the experienced hire.
#4. JOB DESCRIPTION (PROFESSIONALS/ EXPERIENCED HIRES)
i. Work in designated Professional Departments of the Commission as may be assigned.
#5. JOB DESCRIPTION (REGISTRATION AREA OFFICER)
General Data Management and maintenance of Polling Units records in respect of a given Registration Area;
Compile and update Register/Records of voters in the Polling Units of the Registration Area;
iii. Issue Temporary/Permanent /Duplicate Voter Cards as approved by the Commission;
Monitor Electoral Activities and other duties that may be assigned within the Registration Area.
