Rape Case: Group Congratulates Busola Dakolo For Seeking Redress in Court
A non-governmental organization (NGO), the Gender Mobile Initiative (GMI), congratulated Busola Dakolo, wife of famed Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo, for her courage in seeking redress in court for her rape case.
GMI Executive Director Omowumi Ogunrotimi (Esq) made this commendation on Tuesday in a statement made available to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Abuja.
Ms. Dakolo accused the founder and pastor of the Commonwealth of Sion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her on September 23 and 26, 2002, and of suffering emotional distress ever since.
His allegation against the pastor had set fire to social media and other online platforms, provoking a shock, a brutal reaction and criticism from Nigerians, especially the Christian community.
Fatoyinbo was questioned by the police about the rape allegation and was subsequently released on bail.
