The federal government is setting up new offers to announce the new minimum wage as the tripartite committee completes its work of submitting to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I would also like to thank the organized private sector, the Manufacturers ‘Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) for their commitment to pay the new minimum wage once it has been promulgated,” he said. he declares.

The president of the NLC, however, refused to disclose the figure obtained by the tripartite commission on the new national minimum wage.

Wabba said the presidency would make the publication public after deliberation by the National Economic Council.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) recalls that the unions, including the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC), the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the Unified Labor Congress (ULC), suspended their labor strike on 30 September. warning on a new minimum wage started on 26 September.

The unionized workers had gone on strike after a 14-day ultimatum to the federal government for not having reconvened the meeting and unveiled its own figure regarding the new minimum wage.

The three unions had demanded the new minimum wage of N65,500 workers, while private employers and some state governors proposed N25,000.
